July 2016 – Route 66 Museum

As a part of the AAS Summer Museum Field Trips, July 10, 2016 found us at  the  Albuquerque Museum’s exhibit “Route 66: Radiance, Rust and Revival on the Mother Road”.

U.S. 66 was established in 1926, crossing eight states and three time zones. It wound across 380 miles ofNew Mexico and 18 miles of Albuquerque. Through the years Route 66 spawned countless movies, TV shows, music, and books.

The tour docent, Carol Chamberland of  AAS, led 12 members through the exhibit. According to Carol, “we had a good time…we took 1 ½ hours and everyone stayed for the whole tour…some of us even stayed on for lunch in the café”. For all, it was a cool and interesting way to spend a morning.
